Progress Report
March 12, 2008
What have we accomplished together since the first of the year? Where are we headed next?
So far, we have:
· Developed a broad foundation of prayer support, enlisting over 125 prayer partners who pray daily and receive weekly updates with specific requests for our church.
· Learned that prayer in the Bible is not so much asking God to save people as it is asking God to raise up more workers who have greater courage, opportunity, and effect.
· Formed small groups of 2-5 people who pray specifically every day for opportunities God might provide to bring Jesus’ love to someone already in our lives.
· Seen how clearly our stated congregational values reflect who we actually are, and revised those values with potential newcomers in mind as the audience.
· Discussed and experienced greater unity across a variety of worship styles, age groups, and experience levels.
· Seen God increase our enthusiasm through testimonies of His activity, love, and power.
Next, we will:
· Learn some specific skills that will better equip each of us to go where He sends us.
· Evaluate how we can improve our hospitality ministries so that guests are more likely to experience God’s amazing love.
· Look specifically at what ministries a new church must do well, and begin to reallocate our resources to make sure the most important things are happening with excellence.
· Discern specific steps God is calling us to as a congregation to build bridges into our neighborhood and raise the community’s “God-consciousness.”
· Develop a discipleship pathway that ensures that those far from God can grow into fully devoted followers of Christ.
