STEPHEN MINISTRY

Christ Caring for People
through People

We have caregivers who have been trained specifically to provide one-on-one care for individuals dealing with grief, loss, transition, decision-making, or other stressful and life changing issues. Each of us goes through times of difficulty or crisis. Having someone who cares enough to listen can ease the confusion, stress, grief or loneliness.

STEPHEN MINISTRY IS:

One-to-one ministry by trained, caring lay ministers who have responded to Christ’s call to “carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Gal. 6:2)

Stephen Ministry is confidential ministry. Those receiving care can be sure that their identity and what goes on in the caring relationship will remain private.

A STEPHEN MINISTER IS:

  • a child of God who walks beside a hurting person

  • a caring Christian friend who really listens

  • a lay person with over 50 hours of training in providing distinctively Christian care

A STEPHEN MINISTER IS NOT:

  • a professional counselor or psychologist

  • a problem solver

  • a casual visitor

A STEPHEN MINISTER PROVIDES . . .

  • Someone who Cares

  • Supports

  • Listens

  • Shares

WHEN YOU…

… are confused about events in your life.

… feel like you have lost control of your life and your problems.

… experience changes that cause readjustments in your lifestyle.

… are having difficulty making decisions and finding answers.

… have suffered a loss.

… feel like you just need someone to listen.

Anyone who is going through a difficult time and needs someone to care, listen, and share God’s love with them on a one-to-one basis, is encouraged to ask for a Stephen Minister.
